Examkrackers MCAT Study/Prep
Resources
Examkrackers MCAT: Complete Study Package (Examkrackers)
by Jonathan Orsay
"The
best in MCAT Prep" - Reviewer: R. Chang
(Philadelphia, PA)
I studied independently using only
these materials and scored a 34 on the MCAT.
"Everything
you need is here"-
Reviewer: C. Chastine
(Lexington, KY)
The ExamKrackers books were
absolutely indispensable for my MCAT preparation. I cannot
recommend this set highly enough. I used these books and
virtually nothing else to study for the MCAT. In fact, I
recommend that you NOT use anything other than the
ExamKrackers books (backed up by your textbooks as necessary
when you need a particular topic clarified). They present
absolutely everything you need to know -- and, more
importantly, they tell you what you DON'T need to know.

Examkrackers MCAT Audio
Osmosis with Jordan and Jon
by Jonathan Orsay
"Awesome
tool for Audio Learners!"
Reviewer: R. A. Edery "Audio Learner"
(Brooklyn, New York, USA)
I am half way through listening to these
awesome CDs. Here is why they are the greatest idea since
sliced bread: 1)They are a very much needed tool, for those of
us learners that learn best by hearing 2)For those who have a
lot of commute time they don't want wasted, it is a valuable
way to spend that time 3)It is a fun, simple, and entertaining
way to be introduced or to review the hard sciences.
"Worked
for me"
Reviewer: Karen S. (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
These CDs and the Examkrackers book set are all
I studied for those long-forgotten subjects. Excellent,
to-the-point format gave me exactly what I needed to know on
each section, refreshed my memory with good visuals and the
audio topped it off. As I am more of a visual learner, I was
really surprised how much the audio helped.
Worked for me as I am busy packing to enter
Medical School in my first choice school for Fall, 05
matriculation.
Good luck to all.

Examkrackers 1001
Questions in MCAT Physics
by Jonathan Orsay
"Great
Physics Practice" -Reviewer: A reader
I really found this book very, very helpful. I
thought it covered every topic on the MCAT. Some of the
questions were a little easier than McAT, and some seemed a
little more difficult than MCAT, but they all seemed like McAT
questions to me. You can't beat the online help offered with
this book. THe author himself answers your science questions.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
.
"Good
Way to Prep for Physics" -Reviewer:
jpeller7
I used the 1001 physics book and a national
prep course to prepare for my MCAT. I scored a 12 on the
physical sciences. I found the 1001 physics book to be
accurate in the science and a strong pedagogic tool for
learning the concepts. There were some (but really very few)
typos in the book, and I didn't find them myself, but they
were posted on the examkrackers website and appear to be
updated regularly. Additionally, Examkrackers provides a
bulletin board where Jon Orsay himself actually responds
quickly to science questions that relate to the book. Mr.
Orsay explains on this site that the 1001 books are designed
to teach MCAT science and that passages allow you to answer
questions without knowing the science. That's why these
questions are not passage based. He actually suggests using a
different book if you are already scoring 10s in the science
section and he says that you should definitely supplement this
book with a review book and full length exams. Anyway, I
thought the book was pretty good, and I don't think I would
have done so well without it.

Examkrackers 1001
Questions in MCAT Organic Chemistry
by Michelle, Phd Gilbertson, Andrew Dauber
(Editor)
"Perfect
Practice Problems for MCAT" -Reviewer: A
reader
Practice is the key to the MCAT. Review is an
essential first step, but is only part of the complete
preparation for the MCAT. ORGO 1001 will help you guys ace the
Biological Science questions. Everything from stereochemistry
to lab techniques is in this book. There are over 90
stereochemistry questions alone. This book won't guarantee a
15, but it may help raise your score a couple points.
.
"Great
Review"
Reviewer: A Reader
I used this book and found the questions to be
very close to the type used on the MCAT. While there are a few
typos I found this book a great way to review for the exam. Of
this type of resource I found this to be the best one for
OChem.

Examkrackers 1001 Questions in MCAT
Chemistry
by Scott Calvin, Jonathan Orsay
"A
must have for the Physical Sciences portion of the MCAT"
-Reviewer: V. Bahel "docmd2010"
If you want to score well on the physical
sciences portion of the mcat, BUY THIS BOOK. I bought this
book 5 weeks ago, and I feel much more confident about the
material on the MCAT. Get this book for practice and drilling
of concepts. If you don't know the material- DO NOT GET THIS
BOOK!!!!!!! Like said above, review the material elsewhere,
but if you want to perfect your concepts get this book. Make
sure you review the concept, though, before doing the
problems. It's the general rule of thumb, that if you know the
concept decently, and If you do problems (which this book has
loads and loads, for example, there are 200 problems devoted
JUST to acids and bases), then you will master the concept.
I
have improved my physical sciences scores now to a 12 up from
a 9 in just 3 weeks. Granted, I worked very hard, but if you
put your heart into this book, and really learn each and every
one of these 1001 questions inside and out, meaning you learn
why every answer choice is wrong, and why choices is correct,
and also if you can give yourself problems just like the
problems in the book, then there is absolutely no reason to
not perform well on the Physical sciences test. Everyone says
how the MCAT test is a thinking test is a valid statement for
every section except for the physical sciences section. Only
thinking you'll have to do is read and understand the passage
(which, say if the passage is about magnetism, and you
understand magnetism like thet back of your hand, is a joke),
the rest of the test is simple math calculations and concepts.
Good luck pre-meds-don't lose faith in yourself-the MCAT's are
extremely difficult, but they are also predictable, and most
importantly, conquerable.
.
"Begin
to think like the AAMC"
Reviewer: "roygbasch"
I challenge anyone to find a better series of
teaching tools than the 1001 series from Examkrackers. I have
been collecting all of the available MCAT prep material for
the last two years and I am very adamant when I say there is a
lot of bad/misguided/bs out there for sale. The authors of the
1001 books have gone to great lengths to make these books
excellent learning tools.
The 1001 series are not passages like the real MCAT, they are
problems that allow you to hone in on your weaknesses and fix
them. The mini-passage format allows the user to get accustom
to the MCAT style of questioning. If you are able to
understand all 1001 questions in this book, then there is no
reason not to score perfect on the MCAT Physical Science
section.
The 1001 books are about the concepts and they force the
student to think intuitively. This, my friends, is how to
succeed on the MCAT.

Examkrackers 101 Passages in MCAT Verbal Reasoning
by David Orsay
"Here
is the answer MCAT VR preparation" -Reviewer:
A reader
This book has perhaps bridged the gap between
me and medical school. In July I bought 101 Passages and
diligently took a full length verbal section about once every
three days as part of my preparation and it made the
difference between medical school in the Carribean and
becoming a viable candidate for some first tier U.S. medical
schools.
"Best
Verbal Material on the Market ! !" -Reviewer:
A reader
This source of verbal practice for the MCAT is
great. It is a must for anyone taking the MCAT and attempting
to do well on the verbal resoning section. The author has done
a great job of capturing the "MCAT voice" by giving the reader
challenging passages and questions that are like those on the
MCAT. Hands down, this is some of the best stuff on the
market! Other pre-meds would agree if they took a look at this
book. Check this book as a must have, not only a "good"
source.
